Why Ben Carson Believes Everyone Can Be Valuable.

Ben carson, born as benjamin solomon carson is an American retired neurosurgeon, author and a politician who served as the 17th United States secretary of housing and urban development from 2017 to 2021. He was a candidate for president of the united states in 2016 republican primaries.

Born September the 18th, 1951, Dr. Carson grew up in a poor single parent house hold in Detrorit. His mother, who had a third grade education, worked several jobs to tend the family.

At school, Carson was thought of as the most less intelligent student in his class.

When his mother realized that she had to do something dramatic to prevent him from leading a life of failure, she laid down some rules. He could not whatch television except for two programs  a week,  could not play with his friends after school until he finished his homework and had to read two books a week and write book reports about them.

His mother had it done. As he obeyed these rules, words open to him. To his surprise, his mother only puts check marks on the book reports, without reading them. ” I didn’t not know she couldn’t read, so there I was submitting these reports. As I began to read about scientists, economists and philosophers, I started seeing myself in their shoes” he says.

As he mastered the habit of hardwork, his grades began to improve. Ultimately, he received a scholarship to attend Yale University of Michigan Medical school. He later became head of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins University, one of the most valued medical schools in the world.

After achieving success in academics, he established a fund to offer assistance to deserving students.

Ben says,”There is nothing in this world that one cannot become simply through the acquisition of knowledge” As he believes that knowledge creates power and one makes oneself into a valuable person.
